피의능선지뢰밭체험군인수기

One of the small lookouts on a ridge above our battery, facing south. It had been a north korean trench. My friend and I would spend sunday climbing. This area was called “Bloody Ridge”. There were many trenches and bunkers up here. We had to be careful of the mine fields.

One afternoon we found ourselves in the middle of a mine field. It took about an hour to crawl out of this restricted area. Every so often a korean solider would be brought into our aid station. He had set off a mine. Most mine fields were marked. The mine field we were in was marked but only on the far side. We saw the sign from inside the mined area.
